Todd, R.K.

Richard Todd

Richard Todd, born in London, UK, in 1949. Ph.D. from the University of London. Associate Professor of English Literature at the VU University, Amsterdam.

Fellow (1 September 1984 - 31 August 1985)

I focused at three projects: 1) to complete revisions to a study of George Herbert (1593-1633), provisional title, The Opacity of Signs: Acts of Interpretation in George Herbert's The Temple; 2) to research and write an article arguing Netherlandic influence, specifically that of the Southerliedekens attributed to Jonkheer Willem van Zuylen van Nyevelt (1540), on the settings of the psalms begun by Sir Philip Sidney and completed by his sister the Countess of Pembroke; and 3) I researched and completed two articles relating to aspects of selfhood in the contemporary British novel.
